Makerspaces Grades 7-12: What You Need and How to Get It Going

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

K-12. This will be a practical application of possible steps one can take to create a makerspace in a school (we are secondary teachers, but it could be applied to elementary as well, with some adjustments). The only theory involved will be included in listed resources for learners to access on their own. Learners will be able to hear about our makerspace journeys in order to gain ideas on how best to create a makerspace in their schools. Learners will also have hands-on experience with items included in our makerspaces. Finally, learners will be able to ask questions to gain understanding for anything that was unclear in the presentation, or to help with personal application of the learning. Photos and examples of student work will be included.
